Nematodes are microscopic, transparent worms that are highly
effective in controlling pests like slugs. Once applied to the soil, these
beneficial organisms enter the slug, where they feed and multiply rapidly.
Within a week, the slug typically stops feeding and dies.
Offering a safe and organic solution for pest control,
nematodes pose no harm to children, pets, or wildlife. For optimal protection,
it's recommended to start slug control early by applying nematodes at least a
week before planting.
Applying nematodes is a straightforward process involving
mixing them with water according to the provided instructions and applying the
solution using a watering can or nematode applicator. To maximise
effectiveness, ensure the soil is moist and the temperature is above 5°C during
application. Maintaining consistently moist soil for at least two weeks
following application is crucial.
Fortunately, nematodes can tolerate occasional frost, so
there's no need for concern if temperatures drop after treatment. In addition
to slug nematodes, our range includes options for targeting vine weevil,
leatherjacket, chafer grub, ants, and other insect pests.
